An
interview is the last step to getting your job. There is no standard procedure
for an interview because there are almost as many types of interviews as there are
job offers. But this is your ticket to obtaining the job, therefore you have to
adequately prepare yourself to ensure that all goes well. Here are some advice
to guide you.

You may be thinking these points are not
important but let me tell you that due to that Cameroon’s population is made up
of many unemployed employable people, people who have great CV’s and have
experience but still lack jobs. Therefore, the interviewer will look for the
list possible means to deem you unfit for the job offer.
Before the Interview.
- Dress conveniently, that is put on dresses that
reflect the standard and nature of the job you are seeking

Reach the place of appointment 10-15 minutes
before the interview

Find out in advance how long it will take to get
to the place of the interview in order to avoid surprises in your transportation
to the place of interview.

During the interview

The first impression on both sides is very
important, proper attire and punctuality will put the other party in a positive
frame of mind.

Know how to introduce yourself to the
interviewer (first your name, sore name) and also give a Frank Handshake (Don’t
look else ware when making a handshake)

Wait for the recruiter to offer his/her hand for
a hand shake. Also, wait for him/her to offer you a seat.

On the chair, you should seat up with your back
against the back of the seat and do not put your documents on the interviewer’s
desk.

Full knowledge of your CV is vital, since it
will be the bases of your discursion during the interview

The interviewer will ask professional and
personal questions, in order to establish compatibility between you and the job
offered by the company.

Be yourself, that is be natural and sincere.

Pay attention to what the interviewer says and
avoid asking him/her to repeat him/her self

You may take notes without focusing too much on
your note book.

Look at your interviewer in the eyes but do not
stare at him/her.

When answering a question, be brief and concise.

When answering a question, use “I” rather than “someone”,
“the said”, “people said”

Never end an interview without finding out who
will contact the other, when and how.
- Once the interview has been concluded, leave immediately after greeting the interviewer politely
